Body in Action

We went to see “The Body in Action” at the museum first thing this morning.
Nicky and Imo were there to help us. Our first activity was game digestive system. It had strange noises. Liam made it though first and I made it in second place. We did a sprint. There was a door that you opened and a skeleton copied you. There was a gun with ear muffs on a chord coming out of it and if you put on the ear muffs and pulled the trigger, you could hear all of the noises in the room. That was my favourite thing.
It was an awesome exhibition.

My Holiday

In the holidays I went to Liam’s house. We went to River side Pool. Then a few days later we went to Wellington on the ferry. IT WAS AWESOME! I went skating while our friends were on duty at the rink. In Wellington we went to the Weta Cave, Peter Jackson’s studio. My mum and dad went to a movie in the place where Peter Jackson films his movies. That was my holidays.

Wednsday Wrath

On Wednesday, 30th July, I was at school. All was calm. About a few minutes before morning tea it started picking up. When lunch time came it was horrible. Wind was whirling, trees ware swirling. All of the class was looking out of the window, ignoring the teacher. The rubbish bin was doing a show for everyone. The basketball hoops were lying on the ground. When my mum came to pick me up we nearly couldn’t get out of the door. But before she could pick me up my dad had to chainsaw my mum’s way out our driveway.

When we got home I watched TV because we didn’t have a power cut. Half an hour later we were talking upstairs. My dad said something like this.
“I wish a tree fell on our Toyota. Then we would get insurance.”
There was a bang and his wish came true.

Later, after playing and watching TV we went to bed. The next day it was fine but I will never forget that day.

Cars

There are too many people using cars to get places that are too close. In my opinion, people should walk or bike and other stuff except cars. Here is an example. Some people drive two streets to get somewhere when they could walk.
That would help by saving money but if you didn’t, you might not be able to pay your fees or you might not be able to buy food for your children. You might not even be able to pay your electrician’s bill. If you walked you would save lots f money.

If you’re driving now you are polluting our air. It’s killing animals. I know that some of my friends have asthma and I don’t want them to die just because you’re polluting. Do you want our population to go down in animals and people?
So if you pollute - think again! Or if you use the car – think again! Save us. Don’t pollute because you’re not the only one here!

School Uniforms

Children shouldn’t have to wear a uniform to school in my opinion because you have to go to the difficulty and expense of buying them when you already have clothes.
If you get dirty you need a second uniform to change into and if you get that one dirty, you have to wear plain clothes and the teacher might send you to detention.
Teachers would find it hard to keep track of everyone because they would all look the same. You could get away with more tricks because teachers wouldn’t know who did it. If you went on school trips and you had a naughty buddy, you could swap without the teacher knowing. Other people could get told off if you pulled pranks. If somebody was being naughty on a trip in public, people would think that everyone in that school was naughty.
So, I think kids shouldn’t have to wear a uniform because it’s expensive, hard to keep up with the cleaning and hard to tell everyone apart.

Crazy Computers

We are learning to write an argument that will persuade the reader to agree with our point of view. We need to include:
· An introduction which states the problem and tells our opinion,
· Reasons for our opinion,
· An ending which restates our opinion.
The first one we have written is about what needs to happen so we get a fair turn using the computer at home.
Eight year olds have trouble getting to use the computer at home. In my opinion there should be a longer computer so more people can use it at once. There would be no fighting over the computer so the computer would not get broken The longer computers should be 5 metres long at the price of $2000. You should be able to set a time for doing homework and it sets off an alarm. It will be so much handier for kids. I think kids should get longer computers.

What Central means to me

The Crinkum Crankum tree is special because it’s been around for years. It was going to get cut down a long time ago but a kid begged for it not to so they didn’t. It’s fun, curvy, swirly, twisty, tangly, thin and wide. It’s incredible. I love to play around it with my friends. It’s lovely.

The Legend of the Willow Pattern Plate

Once upon a time there lived a mandarin who had a daughter named Koong-se in China. Koong-se fell in love with Chang. The mandarin was angry because he wanted Koong-se to marry a rich Duke.
The mandarin built a fence to keep the lovers apart. Chang snuck in dressed as a servant on the day of the wedding and the lovers got away, but the mandarin chased them.
The lovers escaped to an island. They lived there for a while until the Duke got revenge and sentenced them to death. The gods turned them into doves because of their love.
