Kids Expo

In November I went to the Kids ICT Expo at Victory Primary School Hall. I was reperesenting my class and our school at the Expo. I went there with Joe and Sam. Our challenge was to make a move about the Expo in one and a half hours. These are the movies that we made.

Clean Streams

Hyper Hydroslide.

In the holidays it was my Sister's birth day party. My mum had organised it to be at the hydro side. I had decided to invite Rohan T. At the start of the party I was annoying my sister. Then all the guests arrived and gave their presents. I stole all the presents then gave them back. My mum paid for us all to go to the hydro slide so we all left to go to the slide. I went on my back head first. We did that for heaps. But I had to get out early because I had an ear ache. My mum gave me a cup of lemonade and a biscuit. Then every one left. It was awesome.

I think every child should have equal rights but not every child does. I want to help give them these rights and you can help me.

We have been learning about the children of Kroo Bay. Kroo Bay is a slum community in Africa. In Kroo Bay there is a big river called the Crocodile River. The Kroo Bay people have to wash in the dirty water. In the rainy season all unpicked up rubbish washes into the Crocodile River, then when the river floods it goes into their houses. They drink and play in their river.

Medical care is also at a crisis. They can’t get medical care quickly enough so the children just die. If there was no medical care in Kroo Bay they would just be on a one way road to death and just to emphasise my point, one child out of every four will die before they are five years old.

Save the Children helps children all over the world. I would like you to buy a female yak from the Save the Children wish list for $108. I think this would be good because it provides everyday items like food, clothes, shoes, bags and milk.
I hope you can help by buying a female yak. Put a smile on my face and other children in poor countries. Please, please help.

Making Marvellous Fossils

This is a task that Room 5 did to make fake fossils.
What you need:
Clay,
A small plastic container,
Shells,
A small piece of wire,
Plaster of Pairs,
Black paint,
Gold or bronze spray paint,
A old cloth.
This is what you do:
First press the clay in to the container about 1 and a half centimetres deep. Make sure the surface is flat
Then push your shells in the clay in a asymmetrical and take them out again.
Next use your piece of wire to make a hook.
After that get a parent to mix and pour Plaster of Paris into your container. Make it about 1 and a half centimetres thick.
Soon after that lightly push your loop into the Plaster of Pairs so it does not sink in.
Then wait until the plaster of Pairs dries.
After that take out the Plaster of Paris and dry the top.
Now spray paint the fossil gold or bronze. Soon after the paint is dry paint the fossil lightly black. Then quickly use the old cloth to wipe off the black paint. This will give it an old touch.
Finally you are ready to hang on your wall and there you have a fake fossil.

The Lonely Dragon

There used to be a lonely dragon who searched and searched for a friend but there wasn’t even a hint off life. No one even had names. All you could see was just dusty dark deserts and huge dunes that rose high into the sky. But one day after years of searching he found life. It was a forest with one baby dragon. He raised the dragon and he discovered names and called his baby Zeus. They planted trees and brought life to the planet we now call Earth. Zeus and his father still fly round accidentally causing avalanches and earth quakes.
Once when Zeus’s father was flying without Zeus a person caught him and killed him. Zeus still lives and visits places. Lots of people have made friends with Zeus so Zeus will never be as lonely as his father.

Kelly Sports

Last Friday the Kelly Sports team came to our school. The team include Bryce and his friend. They showed us the games that you play at Kelly Sports. We played five different kinds of games that they showed us in front of the library. The games that we played were : Rugby, basketball, soccer and more. After you were on soccer you did a walking race because we were in teams. My first activity was basketball. I tied with Tyler in the walking race. When we were about to leave we were given a sticker and a sheet of paper. The paper asked us if we wanted to come and join Kelly sports it was so good so I joined. I hope they come again.

Australia

I think my holiday should be famous because I went to Australia. It was me and my family. We landed in Sydney and stayed at Sydney Gateway Holiday Park. We stayed there a few nights and then started going coast to coast to Melbourne. I went to Cirque de Soleil (the best circus in the world) for my mum’s birthday. In Melbourne we also went to the Melbourne Jail and got fake arrested.
The reason we came was because my uncle was mentioned in a will and he shouted our trip to Oz. We had a lovely flight home watching the mini TVs on the back of the seat in front of us. It was an awesome holiday.
